Giving Back Travis: A Soldier’s Story
“Every day is a challenge, but it’s not a challenge you can’t overcome.” Sergeant Travis Mills is a true testimony to his own words.
While on his third tour to Afghanistan, SSG Mills of the United States Army was critically injured when an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded while he was on patrol. Mills lost parts of both legs and arms, making him a quad amputee. Although Mills is only the fifth quadruple amputee to ever survive his injuries, he promised the doctor he was going to be out of the hospital in 10 months.
