THE HOSTEL LIFE  2.0 CONTINUES

By Mehdy Ghannad

The excitement continues with new happenings this week on The Hostel Life front! We have solidified a few of our partnerships with new sponsors, which we will be hosting weekly giveaways via our social media channels and of course the website.

Sponsorship participants for the contest are currently being finalized, but it looks like contributors will include Rough Guides. Ethnotek, MooseJaw, and Hostel Bookers. More sponsorship proposals are circulating out there, so more prices and swag to come for all our loyal fans! Any suggestions for contests are always welcomed, but we have a few in mind.

We are also continuing to add more writers for our news posts, featuring different locations, events, foods, latest news from travel, and how to get involved with volunteering organizations. The site will be also receiving a little facelift to make this a little easier to find for our fans and followers. Any article suggestions and information you would like to know are also welcomed.

This week APTA (Association for the Promotion of Tourism to Africa) is meeting to discuss The Hostel Life in Denver, Colorado. Let’s see if we can get a full season in Africa, wish us luck!

We have also entered into the Jack Daniels Independence project through Instructables.com! If you haven’t checked out the video make sure you do! It is a great reminder of what The Hostel Life is all about, hence the name of the video being just that. The grand prize is $25,000, which will be a welcome reward for the teams’ efforts and that we can further use to help fund a few more trips.

Right now there are talks of filming in Nicaragua in December for our 8th installment of The Hostel Life! Also, there are meetings scheduled later this month in New York City to meet with several more tourism boards including Austria, Switzerland, Morocco, Korea, Tasmania, Quebec, and Chile. If you are in New York City from the 19th through the 25th, feel free to contact me and we can grab a drink!!
